Safety First Professional Driver Training was created from the realization that the Fort St. John/North Peace region needed a high quality class 1 driver training facility that recognized the particular challenges of commercial transport operation in the North.
We are trained to ICBC standards and licenced under ICBC authority, and take these standards seriously. We aim to provide our students with the skills, safety, and knowledge required to operate a commercial transport vehicle beyond what is usually observed today.
We believe that the time has come for truck drivers to once again become “Ambassadors of the Highway” and reclaim the respect of the motoring public, as they did years ago. Driver by driver, we will do this!
The company was started by Barry and Tammy Wilkinson. As members of the local community, and users of local and industrial roads, we realized firsthand the need for safety based education for those entering the field of professional commercial driving. We were saddened to read headline after headline of more and more death and injuries on local roads, and chose to do our part to help the local community when starting up a business. Together we have 43 years of accident free driving, 27 of those professionally. Our aim is to give you the best education for your money in this field, and have you leave with the confidence you require to safely operate in today’s demanding conditions.
